Remio’s $4.5M Seed Round (led by Khosla Ventures) & What’s Next

Today, I’m excited to announce Remio’s $4.5 million Seed round, led by Khosla Ventures and joined by Version One Ventures, The Venture Reality Fund, and Moai Capital. We are very grateful for this vote of confidence, as well as the support and guidance from our advisors, mentors, founder-friends, families, friends, and customers – thank you all immensely! Before I talk about the future of our business and our technology, I’d like to first share a bit more about the why.

The rise of remote work has made individuals more efficient, but it has also pushed us further apart – physically and emotionally. With knowledge-workers scattered to homes, satellite offices, and co-working spaces, many have struggled to recapture casual connections with colleagues and friends. Without these connections, teams lose trust, efficiency, camaraderie, and fun. That’s where Remio comes into play – to bring teams together and give them a new tool with which to succeed in a remote and hybrid setting. And for many remote teams, we are the only affordable way for them to instill a sense of presence and connectivity.

Over the past eight months, we’ve seen tremendous growth with companies and teams spread all over the world using Remio to socialize and collaborate in fun and magical VR spaces. We’ve had the pleasure of working with more than 40 major companies, including Trello, Netflix, Google, Nextdoor, and many more. We’ve seen companies use Remio for 300-person remote offsites, daily standups, and weekly happy hours. We’ve seen strong bottom-up growth as in the case of Hubspot, which grew from one team to 41 (and counting).

Our platform combines immersive 3D graphics, VR, and cloud computing technology to allow companies to maximize their social and collaboration potential. This funding gives us the opportunity to continue enhancing our product and empowering remote teams. More specifically, we are expanding our enterprise solution and creating tools for our users to create their own content (user-generated content), ultimately helping us achieve our vision of making remote work and remote human interactions feel as connected as in-person.

Remio’s success and growth would not have been possible without our incredible team of talented people from all over the world. We will be adding more brilliant minds to our team to accelerate our pace. If you are exceptional and your interests, ambition, and skill set fits, come join us on our journey.

It’s been a fantastic journey thus far and we’re incredibly excited about the future possibilities of AR and VR! I cannot wait to share Remio with more customers and help them unlock their human capital potential within our team building and collaboration workspace.

See you in the Metaverse!
