Danny's DMs

Is Apple ever going to release a VR headset? Is the metaverse ‘safe’? Has crypto hit the bottom? Danny from Remio’s CX team inboxes industry leaders to find out what’s going on in the world of Web 3.0.

Web 3.0 is a really big space and most of the technologies that make up that space are evolving quickly. What is Web 3.0? It’s the next step of the internet that looks like a jambalaya of NFTs, Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain, AR, VR, XR. Right now they are all colliding in our physical and digital worlds.

They also happen to dominate the headlines on my Apple and Google news feeds 🙂

The problem is, I’m not always sure if the next ‘big announcement’ is actually relevant or just marketing hype. Recently, big tech keynote speeches on the latest product launches (cough, Apple Watch 7) have left me feeling…. Underwhelmed? (Shrug emoji). I have family from Texas, they have a saying in the Great State, “all hat, no cattle”. These announcements feel a bit like that.

To cut through the noise and get a better understanding of ‘what’s what’, I inboxed industry leaders to get their help with understanding the Web 3.0 headlines that come up most often on my thumb scroll.

I reached out to them because they have deep experience with Extended reality (XR), and work in the fields of Virtual reality (VR) and Augmented reality (AR). Below are their responses.

Remio would like to thank Brett from Better Than Unicorns, Lance from VEDX and Matthieu from GoMeta for their contributions to this edition of Danny’s DMs.

Do you have a thought you’d like to share or would you like to recommend someone we should speak with? Either way, I’m happy to chat about Remio and all things related to Web 3.0. Below is a link to my calendar.

– Cheers, Danny
